They deal with the deepest, most fundamental issues: the creation of the universe and of the human race, the nature of the gods and spirits, what happens to us when we die, and how the world will end. They examine love and jealousy, war and peace, good and evil. They explore these crucial issues with intriguing plots, vivid characters, memorable scenes, and concepts that touch our deepest emotions; and so they have become eternally fascinating.

Yes, as you can see today we are going to talk about anime characters that have been adopted by real-world stories...

If someone asks "What are the anime where we can see real world characters?", then these are the anime that come to my mind first;

Saber from Fate Stay Night UBW

Saber's real identity is non-other than King Arthur. King Arthur is a mythical ruler who despited as strong, athletic, and well-versed in the art of warfare. He was the ideal king who presided over the golden age of chivalry. In the myth, Arthur owned a very famous sword called 'Excalibur'. We can see even Saber use that sword as her weapon.

Gilgamesh from Fate Stay Night UBW/ Fate Zero

The story of Gilgamesh, the King of Uruk, is the oldest extended narrative to have come down from the ancient world. It survives in the form of an epic poem written on clay tablets in the 7th century BCE in Assyria, although the story dates back to the 3rd millennium BCE. The main characteristic of Gilgamesh was his superhuman strength and great willpower. Gilgamesh in Fate series have the exact same characteristics just like the legend's one has.

Aladdin from Magi

Aladdin is a character who is taken from The Arabian Nights (Aladdin and His Magic Lamp). In the Arabian Nights story, Aladdin has a Magic Lamp that can summon a djinn. In the anime, Aladdin has a flute that can summon the djinn Yugo.

Okita Souji from Hakuoki

Souji Okita is one of the heroes in Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan and is captain of the first division. He is taken from a real person who known as Okita Sojiro Fujiwara no Harumasa. He was one of the best swordsmen of the Shinsengumi (special police force in Kyoto during the late shogunate period).

Arsène Lupin from Code Realize

Arsène Lupin is based on the literary figure Arsène Lupin; a fictional gentleman thief and master of disguise created by French writer Maurice Leblanc. Even in the anime, he works as a thief and Lupin considers himself to be a "gentleman thief", who only ever steals from people who really deserve it.

Oda Nobunaga from Ikemen Sengoku

In the late 16th century, Oda Nobunaga was a powerful warlord during the late Sengoku period and is regarded as one of the three unifiers of Japan. Nobunaga was the son of a military governor and is said to have been born in the Nagoya Castle. In childhood and in his teen years, he was known for bizarre behavior and was known as the "Big Fool of Owari" by the elders of his province. He was later killed when his retainer Akechi Mitsuhide rebelled against him at Honno-ji.

Uesugi Kenshin from Ikemen Sengoku

Kenshin was the daimyo of the Echigo Province during the Sengoku Period and was one of the most powerful and influential ones at the time. He was notable for his prowess in battle and honorable ways, which overlaps with IkéSen's Kenshin, who emphasizes that he is a man of his word. Other notable traits were his ability to organize, nurture and expand the growth of Echigo.

Gods from Kamigami no Asobi

In Kamigami no Asobi you can see many gods such as Apollon, Hades, Tsukito, Takeru, Balder, Loki, Anubis, and Thoth. Those gods are created from real mythical gods.
