Hair Colours (By Affi)

Hello lovely people! I hope you guys are having a sweet day. Today we are going to talk about hair colours in anime.

When we see an anime character for the first time, the main thing we see about him/her is the hair color. That happens because there are many different hair colors in anime world.

We always see them and dicide what is the best hair color for that character and for this character and etc. But did you guys know that there is a meaning behind those colours? You guys like to know what is hidden behind them right? Okay then, time to find out about them.

Black

Black hair can define a character as being more traditional. Although black is a dark colour, it is neutral and is also associated with positive personal traits. For example they can be deep thinkers.

Personality - Mysterious, refined, traditional, cerebral, capable, powerful, independent, sad, cruel, macabre

Characters - Sebastian (Black Butler), Kyoya Hibari (Katekyo Hitman Reborn), Zeref (Fairy Tail)

Brown 

Brown hair color mostly belong to normal characters. Most side characters have this hair color but you can see this colour in main protagonist too.

Personality - Approachable, comfortable, temperate, charming, practical, consistent, sincere, enduring, predictable, boring

Characters - Tohru Honda (Fruits Basket), Haruhi Fujioka (Ouran High School Host Club), Sakura Kinomoto (Cardcaptor Sakura)

Red

Female characters with this hair colour have super explosive emotions. Male characters with this hair colour can be seen calm and humble most of the time but they can be hot-headed too.

Personality - Passionate, seductive, feisty, enthusiastic, adventurous, dynamic, primal, hot-headed, aggressive, opinionated

Characters - Karma Akabane (Assasination Classroom), Ezra Scarlet (Fairy Tail), Grell Sutcliff (Black Butler),

Orange

Orange-haired characters are often courageous and loyal but they can be selfish, annoying and attention-seekers too.

Personality - Courageous, loyal, spirited, optimistic, unpredictable, brazen, testy, selfish, annoying, attention-seeking

Yellow/Blonde

Blonde-haired characters are likely to be foreign. (European or American) We can also divide blonde-haired characters into three categories:

1.) Dumb blonde: They may also lack maturity, and have selfish attitudes.

2.) Troublemaker: Unwittingly attracts chaos. They have street-smarts, charm, and plenty of tricks.

3.) Prince: This protagonist is rare, and demonstrates the western “prince charming” archetype. This hero/heroine is chivalrous, humble, and pure.

Personality - Confident, happy, romantic, artful, whimsical, Naïve, ditzy, impish, manipulative, callous, stubborn

Green

A cross between warm and cool colors, green imparts a unique energy to a character. Like mother nature, green is capable of an evolving, healing atmosphere as well as bringing destruction and decay. These characters tend to side with the protagonists, even with bad first-impressions.

Personality - Easy-going, trustworthy, docile, enlightened, tolerant, rejuvenating, of raw energy, roguish, imprudent, poisonous, jealous

Characters - C.C. (Code Geass), Freed Justine (Fairy Tail), Flan (Katekyo Hitman Reborn), Enkidu (Fate Series)

Blue

Blue-haired characters have many hidden talents, and a keen awareness of the emotions of themselves and others.

Supernatural abilities are common to blue hair.

Personality - Wise, impartial, talented, mature, intuitive, introverted, concerned with science, justice, reason

Nagisa Shiota (Assassination Classroom)

White

A strange, inhuman essence surrounds white-haired characters. Their purity can be unnatural and over-sanitized. They may have a hidden power.

Personality - Pure, ethereal, magical, serene, lucid, mature, humble, indifferent, narcissistic, immoral

Characters - Accelerator (A Certain Magical Index), Tachibana Kanade (Angel Beats!), Nai (Karneval)

Pink

Characters with pink hair may at first seem saccharine, but their natural charisma combined with their desire for order can bring about a positive change in others. Pink haired characters can have a great destiny.

Personality - Benevolent, feminine, youthful, innocent, cheerful, cute, orderly, accomplished, gullible, frustrated

Purple

Purple colour haired characters are said to be powerful. Full of hubris or out of touch with other characters, their goals may revolve around prestige and the acquiring of material possessions.

Personality - Powerful, privileged, noble, elegant, intriguing, restless, fickle, conflicted, pompous, egotistical

Grey/Silver

Grey-haired characters have a mix of moral black & white—much like their hair. They are “do-it-your-selfers” with problem solving methods beyond the status quo. Characters may also have grey hair to emphasize a modest, self-less nature. Also, while not always evil, may have a hidden power.

Personality - Calm, balanced, demure, sophisticated, sublime, logical, composed, disguised, obscene, irreverent

There is lot of colours, aren't there? Anyway there might be different personalities other than mentioned personalities according to the hair color. But those are the personalities most of the characters have according to their hair color.
