What is love? Am I loved?
Love is a force of nature. We can't command, demand, or take away love. It's an intangible connection between two people that feels exceptionally good. Love is not an emotion. Love is the connection. Your feelings are a reaction to the quality of that connection.
There are several types of love (according to ancient Greeks :
1. Eros: sexual passion
Eros was the Greek God of love and sexual desire. The Greeks feared that kind of love the most because it was dangerous and could get them into the most trouble because of the lost control. But losing control is precisely what many people now seek in a relationship like madly in love ^_~
2. Philia: deep friendship
Philia exists when people share the same values and dispositions with someone and the feelings are reciprocated. It was about showing loyalty to your friends, sacrificing for them, as well as sharing your emotions with them.
3. Ludus: playful love
Referred to the affection between children or young lovers. The feelings we have when we test out what it might be like to be in love with someone. The fluttering heart and feelings of euphoria; the slightly dangerous sensation.
4. Pragma: longstanding love
The everlasting love between a married couple which develops over a long period of time and the highest form of love. The love which endures in sickness and in health.
5. Agape: selfless love
This was a love that extended to all people. Closest to unconditional love. The love you give without expecting anything in return reflected in all charitable acts.
6. Philautia: love of the self
The love we give to ourselves. This is not vanity, like narcissism, but our joy in being true to our own values. The strength to care for ourselves so that we can in turn care for others. Philautia is essential for any relationship, we can only love others if we truly love ourselves and we can only care for others if we truly care for ourselves.
7. Storge: Love of the child
This is the love parents naturally feel for their children. It’s based on natural feelings and effortless love. Storge is the love that knows forgiveness, acceptance and sacrifice. It is the one that makes you feel secure, comfortable and safe.
( *-* ) wow~ this sure is long
love is the 7th sense that destroys all the 6th senses
